This position is for a skilled technician or junior engineer to work with the guidance of the engineering team. Primary responsibilities include building, wiring, and installing of process components, along with troubleshooting and resolving issues within PLC and controls systems. The selected candidate will collaborate with the engineering team to assemble, modify, and test controls systems for various gypsum wallboard manufacturing machines.

Description of Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

· Responsible for keeping Safety First for you and your co-workers.

· Working alongside engineers to design, build, and test solutions to a variety of technical problems.

· Skilled in Root Cause Analysis with an emphasis on design modification and corrective action to minimize downtime, increase productivity, and maintain continuity of operations.

· Evaluate engineering proposals, shop drawings, or design comments for sound electrical engineering practice or conformance with established safety or design criteria.

· Analyzing operations and offering suggestions for improvement.

· Participating in learning and growth opportunities.

· Operate within our preventative and predictive maintenance program.

· Communicate with production operators to ensure proper changeovers and equipment process.

· Troubleshoot and repair equipment electrically and mechanically.

· Perform monthly test on all safety systems.

· Perform other tasks as assigned.

· Review electrical engineering criteria to identify necessary revisions, deletions, or amendments to outdated material.

· Update and occasionally draft schematics using CAD software.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

· Must have an advanced understanding of industrial controls systems, PLCs, wiring standards, and electrical requirements.

· Must demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment.

· Must demonstrate the ability to understand and interpret blueprints, specifications, or diagrams to inform the installation, development, and operation activities.

· Possesses a basic understanding of electrical engineering and/or technical work.
