VIVA USA Inc. is seeking a Test Technician to perform electrical and mechanical testing, design validation, and verification of electronic products. You will work with Engineering to apply test requirements, troubleshoot lab equipment, and build test harnesses for product verification.

Test Technician

JOB PURPOSE:

Perform electrical/mechanical testing, design validation, and verification of electronic or electro‑mechanical equipment and products.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. 1. Perform intermediate validation testing on prototypes and existing products.
2. 2. Work with Engineering to understand and apply defined test requirements.
3. 3. Troubleshoot defective lab equipment and provide required maintenance as needed.
4. 4. Build intermediate test harnesses, loads, and circuit boards to support product verification as required.
5. 5. Document and maintain records relating to work performed.
6. 6. Inform supervisor of process, test, or design problems and assist in the corrective action.
7. 7. Assemble (mechanical/electrical) fixtures and test setups as required. This will require performing intermediate design functions
8. 8. Perform inspection, test, and failure analysis as necessary to determine cause of defective tests or assemblies.
9. 9. Conduct functional test of electronic circuits and PCBs according to engineering instructions.
10. 10. Create test documentation when required for prototype products if engineering instructions are not available.
11. 11. Review engineering documentation and work instructions, provide feedback, and suggest changes to documentation as required
12. 12. Communicate in a professional and effective manner.
13. 13. Perform other associated tasks as required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

A.S. in Electronics, a two-year technical diploma, equivalent military certification, or equivalent experience

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

Required:

Minimum two years of related experience in electronics, manufacturing, or engineering

Preferred:

Three or more years of related experience in electronics, manufacturing, or engineering

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

1. 1. Possess effective written and verbal communication skills, enabling correspondence with internal departments, vendors, and customers
2. 2. Ability to manage multiple priorities as needed to complete tasks on time
3. 3. Working knowledge of personal computers, spreadsheets, and word processing
4. 4. Possess a thorough understanding of test equipment and methods e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.
5. 5. Hands-on experience troubleshooting to identify root cause in test set ups
6. 6. Ability to read intermediate engineering documents, e.g., schematics or diagrams
7. 7. Maintain necessary product records and documentation
8. 8. Ability to comprehend and use product/process component datasheets
9. 9. Ability to assemble and disassemble products
10. 10. Ability to maintain lab equipment
11. 11. Ability to perform basic mechanical work
12. 12. Ability to work with independently

PREFERRED SKILLS:

1. 1. Hands-on SMT soldering experience
2. 2. Strong electrical aptitude
3. 3. Familiarity with manufacturing processes and electronic components
4. 4. Experience in one or more of the following areas: 3D Printing, Electronics, Electrician/Electrical Contracting, High Voltage Electrical Safety, Electric Motor repair, on road/off-road Automotive repair, communication/networking hardware, computer repair, Robotics, Automation, Mechatronics, HVAC, Farming

Notes:

Hours: 8 AM - 5 PM. OT may be required if requested by client.

Metatarsal boots are required for their first day.
