Job summary

Super Steel LLC in Mequon, WI is seeking an Engineering Technician to create and maintain manufacturing documentation, 3D models, BOMs, routings, and related records that support customer-designed products.

You will work with manufacturing, quality, purchasing, and customers to ensure data is complete, manufacturable, and aligned with specs; contribute to continuous improvement while maintaining CAD and ERP data.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Associates degree in Mechanical Design, Manufacturing Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
  • Experience in manufacturing, metal fabrication, machining, or industrial production environments.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks or comparable 3D CAD software.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including welding, machining, forming, assembly, and finishing.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Knowledge of GD&T and standard drafting practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Create, modify, and maintain 3D models, detailed fabrication drawings, and assembly drawings using SolidWorks CAD software.
  • Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, models, and drawings for customer-designed products, weldments, machined components, and assemblies.
  • Evaluate designs for manufacturability, quality, cost, and production efficiency.
  • Create and maintain bills of material (BOMs), routings, engineering change notices (ECNs), and related engineering documentation within CAD and ERP systems.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and production teams to resolve design, tooling, and process-related issues.
  • Support quotation activities by reviewing customer drawings, specifications, and technical requirements.
  • Apply GD&T principles and engineering standards to ensure product functionality and quality.
  • Interface directly with customers regarding design requirements, engineering changes, and technical inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, customer specifications, and company quality requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost reduction.

Job Summary:

The Engineering Technician is responsible for creating and maintaining manufacturing documentation, 3D models, drawings, bills of material (BOMs), routings, and related engineering records that support the production of customer-designed products. Working in tandem with Manufacturing Engineers, this position helps translate customer requirements into accurate and efficient manufacturing processes. The Engineering Technician collaborates with production, quality, purchasing, and customers to ensure engineering data is complete, accurate, manufacturable, and aligned with customer specifications. This role supports continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining engineering documentation within CAD and ERP systems to enable safe, efficient, and repeatable manufacturing operations.

Pay Range:

Entry level position - $60,000-$65,000 per year starting salary.

Key Responsibilities:
