Job summary

Super Steel in Mequon, WI is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist to maintain accurate stock levels and enable reliable MRP planning. The role emphasizes precision, data-driven analysis, and hands-on experience in a metal fabrication environment.

You will monitor ERP-driven inventories, perform counts, verify deliveries, and support lean initiatives across the facility. Strong Excel skills and cross-functional communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of inventory control, materials, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in contract metal fabrication, machining, welding, or similar industrial operations preferred.
• Working knowledge of ERP systems (MIE Trak, Epicor, SAP, Oracle, or similar).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with large data sets accurately.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic reporting tools.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally.

Responsibilities

• Monitor inventory levels using ERP system.
• Perform routine physical counts and checks.
• Assist with receiving incoming deliveries, verifying quantities, documentation, and moving to correct storage locations.
• Report and fix missing counts, and bad or damaged product.
• Label and store product into stocking areas.
• Conduct inventory transactions when moving product to and from locations.
• Contribute to lean manufacturing and continuous improvement efforts across the facility.

Position Overview

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels to prevent shortages or excess inventory at Super Steel. This role is critical to ensuring enabling accurate MRP planning. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, a disciplined process mindset, and hands‑on experience in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Accuracy & Control

• Monitor inventory levels using ERP system

Qualifications & Experience

Required

• Experience with cycle counting programs and physical inventories.
• Understanding of MRP logic, BOMs, routings, and material planning concepts.
• Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain.
