Duties

• Produces detailed two- and three-dimensional CAD drawings and models that accurately reflect design intent, incorporating modifications based on test feedback.
• Develops and optimizes CAD/CAM programs and CNC machining strategies for complex geometries and exotic materials, pushing the boundaries of available manufacturing equipment.
• Manages multiple concurrent assignments by prioritizing tasks, tracking milestones, and proactively communicating risks or schedule impacts to relevant stakeholders.
• Independently fabricates, overhauls, maintains, and repairs devices using a broad range of techniques including machining, welding, heat treating, and surface treatments across multiple media and materials.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on a TS (or equivalent level) investigation with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
• All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.
• Temporary Duty (TDY) Travel may be required 30% or less of the time.
• Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a Cl-scope polygraph examination and randomly thereafter.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's license.

Specialized experience is defined as 1) Design, fabricate, and test non-standard intelligence collection or concealment devices using CAD/CAM systems; 2) serve as the primary technical point of contact for design and fabrication projects involving customers and stakeholders from multiple activities; AND 3) Provide direct advisory support to senior government officials or operational units on the feasibility, design approach, and fabrication methodology for non-standard equipment.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GG/GS-12).
