Engineering Technical Leader - Transient Analysis (Remote Eligible, U.S.)

Job Description Summary

The Transient Analysis Technical Leader will make immediate contributions working with an energetic, diverse team of engineers performing Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) transient analyses and thermal hydraulic analyses supporting various applications. The position leads projects applying nuclear/thermal hydraulic methods, nuclear power plant operations, and safety analyses to demonstrate compliance with licensing requirements and resolve emergent BWR plant problems.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership on a production-oriented engineering analysis team, covering proposal development, planning, design performance, and delivery.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of engineering reports, documentation, and calculations.
  • Identify and manage technical risks, developing plans for engineering deliverables.
  • Resolve challenging emergent BWR operability issues.
  • Communicate and present solutions to complex technical issues internally and externally.
  • Improve transient analysis work processes continuously.
  • Review engineering designs and provide expertise.
  • Mentor transient analysis staff and support knowledge management.
Required Qualifications
  • B.S. Degree in Nuclear, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline.
  • At least 7 years of relevant engineering experience.
Eligibility Requirements
  • Preferred work location: GEH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC, but highly qualified remote candidates in the U.S. will be considered.
  • Access to U.S. export-controlled information is required; final offers depend on obtaining necessary authorizations.
Desired Characteristics
  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Engineering or Senior Reactor Operator Certification.
  • Experience with BWR core simulation or thermal-hydraulic systems analysis (e.g., PANACEA, ODYN, TRACG, RELAP).
  • Knowledge of engineering work planning, scheduling, and independent judgment application.
  • Extensive knowledge of BWR Systems, nuclear physics, thermal hydraulics, and mechanical design.
  • Collaborative mindset, effective communication, integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement drive.

The salary range is $112,000-$160,000, with potential bonuses and geographic differentials.
