Job summary

SoltechPR is seeking an experienced Engineering Technical Lead (ETL) to drive a major inspection and packaging line project in a regulated biotech environment. You will lead technical decisions, coordinate vendors, and manage design reviews, FAT/SAT, and startup activities to ensure compliant, high-quality equipment implementation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • Strong engineering experience within biotech, pharmaceutical, medical device, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with inspection and/or packaging equipment strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting capital projects and new equipment implementation.
  • Knowledge of GMP, commissioning, qualification, and validation (CQV) requirements.
  • Experience working with equipment vendors and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Strong technical problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Must be available to work on-site in Southeast Puerto Rico.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership for the implementation of new inspection and packaging equipment and systems.
  • Serve as a key engineering interface between site teams, equipment vendors, and project stakeholders.
  • Support equipment specification, design reviews, vendor selection, and technical evaluations.
  • Participate in FAT, SAT, installation, commissioning, qualification, and startup activities.
  • Coordinate and resolve technical issues during project execution.
  • Ensure equipment and systems comply with GMP requirements, engineering standards, safety requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Collaborate with Automation, Validation, Quality, Manufacturing, Maintenance, and other technical functions.
  • Support equipment integration with existing manufacturing and facility systems.
  • Review and approve technical documentation, drawings, specifications, protocols, and engineering deliverables.
  • Support project schedules, risk assessments, change controls, and technical decision-making.
  • Provide technical leadership during equipment troubleshooting, startup, and transition to operations.

Summary:

SoltechPR is looking for an experienced Engineering Technical Lead (ETL) to support an exciting new Inspection & Packaging Line project within the biotech manufacturing industry. The Engineering Technical Lead will provide technical leadership and engineering oversight throughout the implementation of a new inspection and packaging line. This individual will work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Automation, Validation, and equipment vendors to ensure successful equipment design, installation, qualification, and startup.

Job Details:

Contract Duration: 1 year +
