Job summary

Spirit AeroSystems, in the Wichita defense division, seeks an Engineering Technical Analyst with extensive composite fabrication experience to guide estimating, fabrication, and reporting in support of multiple projects. You will collaborate with engineering, materials, and program teams to translate lab innovations into factory-ready processes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in fabrication and machining technology.
• 5+ years in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with CATIA or other equivalent CAD programs.
• Engineering and technical drawing interpretation knowledge.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Understand Estimating and Budgets.
• Experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite applications (Office 365, MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Teams, Visio).
• Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of aerospace fabrication processes and technologies to support fabrication research strategies and plans.
• Design, develop, verify, apply, and implement experimental technologies and improvements to fabrication technologies.
• Support multi-functional teams and coordinate cost and weight savings to assist in technology planning.
• Research, design, develop and analyze materials and fabrication processes for aero system structures and components.
• Review drawings and documents for part conformance and assist in resolving part failures.
• Implement concepts, analyze prototype systems and verify compliance with customer requirements and regulations.
• Facilitate technology implementation in production and provide user support.
• Determine feasibility of new design and fabrication techniques and investigate problems to restore quality.
