Job summary

Betsson Group is seeking a Senior .NET Engineer/Technical Lead for the Player Account Management (PAM) team. This hands-on role drives technical excellence, designs, troubleshoots, and delivers while mentoring engineers and delivering PoCs.

Lead technical design decisions, research new technologies, and collaborate with product, architecture and engineering across the organization. This role operates in a hybrid model with office and home days.

Qualifications

  • Experience designing distributed microservices and RESTful APIs.
  • Strong background with real-time messaging (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
  • Proficient with SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Couchbase).
  • Experience with observability practices (Grafana, OpenTelemetry).
  • Proven mentoring and leadership in engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and champion technical improvements for the roadmap.
  • Introduce standards and best practices in the area.
  • Collaborate with architects to align directions and implementations.
  • Take the lead on technical design decisions for the PAM area.
  • Lead hands-on technical investigations and build PoCs.
  • Participate in technical interviews and provide feedback to engineers.

Are you an experienced Senior .NET Engineer or Technical Lead ready for your next challenge? Our PAM (Player Account Management) team is now hiring! We are an international team with some of the best people in the industry! If you are passionate about the latest technologies and can handle company-critical responsibilities, then this is the role for you! The Wow As a Tech Lead in the Player Account Management (PAM) Area at Betsson Group, your primary responsibilities will be geared towards driving technical excellence in our products.

You will serve as one of the most technically senior members of the team, facilitating technical design, decisions, troubleshooting and delivery. Being a technical expert, you will actively support our managers in building world class engineering teams. This is a hands-on role, where you will have frequent opportunities to proactively research new technologies, lead technical investigations and develop POCs.

What we are looking for

Someone who is passionate about building things, with a strong technical background and an understanding of non-functional requirements.

  • Expertise with designing and implementing distributed microservices (preferably using Docker and Kubernetes) and highly cacheable RESTful APIs.
  • A deep understanding of real-time messaging patterns (preferably Kafka and RabbitMQ).
  • Highly experienced and comfortable working with both SQL and NoSQL databases (preferably PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and Couchbase).
  • Possess demonstrated working experience with observability practices for highly available systems (such as Grafana and OpenTelemetry).
  • Experienced and passionate about coaching and mentoring people, preferably having done so in a similar role.
  • Able to work out of own initiative and under pressure.
  • Great if you have Technical proficiency with .NET technology stack.
  • Working experience with AWS.
  • Clear verbal & written communication.

To this end, you will be expected to:

  • Identify and champion technical improvements for consideration in the roadmap, ensuring the benefits are clear, measurable and understood.
  • This includes introducing standards and best practices in the area.
  • Work closely with architects to ensure that the architectural direction and standards are being communicated, aligned & implemented within the teams.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of our business and products.
  • Take the lead on technical design decisions, whilst ensuring alignment with the area architect(s).
  • Take an active, hands-on role with important technical initiatives and issues.
  • Support new product development by producing POCs and/or documented technical designs.
  • Research new technologies and assessing their potential application.
  • Review major changes to ensure they are up to standard.
  • Serve as a key technical point of contact for the area, collaborating with product, architecture and engineering colleagues across the organisation.
  • Help build our world class teams, thus participating in technical interviews and providing technical feedback on people, as well as coaching & mentoring engineers.
  • When necessary, participate in team ceremonies such as planning, refinement, etc… to keep up to date on ongoing works and upcoming plans.
  • Lead technical trainings to share knowledge and improve technical expertise within the teams.
