Job description

You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (ELECTRICAL) in the ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING AND PLANNING DIVISION, CHIEF ENGINEER, ENGINEERING AND PLANNING DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
  • Experience applying knowledge of engineering concepts, principles, and practices applicable to the full range of duties performed on submarine electrical and electronic systems.
  • Experience directing troubleshooting efforts for all complex problems related to the electrical/electronic systems assigned.
  • Experience developing new approaches in solving a variety of engineering problems not resolved by accepted methods.
  • Experience communicating effectively, both orally and in writing, sufficient for formally training and mentoring junior engineer and technicians.
  • Experience authoring and maintaining certain local and organizational authored process instructions.
