Job summary

Nidec Motor Corporation invites applications for an Engineering Technician Co-op in Missouri. You will gain hands-on experience with testing and data acquisition equipment used to validate energy-efficient motor and control designs for pool, HVAC, automation, and related applications.

As part of a collaborative engineering team, you will assist with testing, analyzing, and documenting motor performance to support design and application engineers. You may lead a small project under supervision.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• Available to work a minimum of 25 hours per week during normal business hours.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Demonstrated technical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist in testing HVAC motors and electronic controls using both manual and automated data acquisition methods.
• Support the development and execution of test procedures for accredited motor testing.
• Assist in creating and implementing test plans focused on efficiency improvements and product performance.
• Collect, organize, and analyze test data using Excel and other software platforms.
• Prepare technical reports and communicate test results to engineering teams.
• Participate in an individual engineering project from conception through implementation under the guidance of an engineer.
• Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and records.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
