Job summary

MillerKnoll is seeking an Engineering support professional to assist manufacturing operations, debug equipment issues, and document processes. The role requires 2-4 years of engineering experience and strong PC skills with Excel and Word.

You will collaborate across Operations, Maintenance, Safety, Quality, and Purchasing to drive reliability and efficiency. Join a team dedicated to continuous improvement and data-driven decision-making, with opportunities for growth and impactful contributions

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of experience in an engineering environment or as Engineering Tech.
  • Experience with PC based computer systems and familiarity with Excel/Word.
  • Able to apply basic engineering procedures and practices.
  • Able to work to deadlines and complete tasks independently.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support and documentation for manufacturing operations.
  • Diagnose machine issues and implement countermeasures.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Maintenance, Safety, Quality, Controls, OEMs, Purchasing, CAM, and Industrial Engineering.
  • Initiate equipment reliability and process improvement projects based on data and observations.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and maintain accurate engineering records.

General Purpose The purpose of this position is to provide engineering support and documentation for manufacturing operations.

Essential Functions Applies basic problem-solving skills to improve safety, quality, and efficiencies of equipment. Can quickly diagnose machine issues and see that the proper countermeasures are being implemented. Must be able to make decisions based on sound engineering principles. Follows engineering and quality processes. Must be able to work cross functionally with Operations, Maintenance, Safety, Quality, Controls, OEM’s, Purchasing, CAM, and Industrial Engineering. With supervision, initiates equipment reliability and process improvement projects based on data, personal observations, and operations input. Participates in continuous improvement projects. Basic knowledge of part print reading and interpretation. Must be detail orientated to ensure accuracy of information delivered. Participates in continuous learning, e.g. educational and training opportunities. Retains an open attitude toward new engineering ideas / methods / technologies. Be able to function in PC based computer systems (excel, word, outlook). Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives. Able to apply basic engineering procedures and practices Able to work to deadlines and completions. Able to manage own workload and be self motivated. Team player skills Mechanical aptitude to deal with developing solutions to customer requests. Works under direct supervision
