Job summary

Sonoco, founded in 1899 and a global leader in packaging, seeks an Engineering Team Leader to guide key projects. You will collaborate with engineers and scientists to advance paper-based industrial products, lead a small skilled team, and manage budgets and timelines with data-driven decisions.

You will be expected to develop deep material/product knowledge, drive cost and complexity reductions, and work cross-functionally to meet market needs.

Qualifications

• A BS, MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
• Around 10 years of professional experience, with some people management.
• PMP, PMI, or PPM certifications are a significant plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and project managers to design, test, and refine products and processes.
• Mentor, lead, and develop a team of engineers, fostering collaboration and innovation.
• Oversee project timelines from conception to commercialization using modern PM tools.
