General Description
Leads the I&E engineering team in the design, implementation, maintenance, optimization, and improvement of production processes and equipment in accordance with Industry Standards and Practices.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Be accountable for the supervision, communication of key business performance and management information, performance management, recruiting and development for the assigned engineering team.
- Lead the assigned engineering team to identify asset reliability, operability, and HSSE risks and implement measures to reduce or eliminate them.
- Lead the development and implementation of reliability improvement ideas, projects, and plans, within the site.
- Serve as sponsor for capital and expense projects and provide necessary resources in order to support delivery of the site business strategies.
- Assure assigned engineering teamwork complies with site and industry standard.
- Seek out technologies with promise to provide process simplifications to reduce frequency and impact of human errors or equipment failures.
- Serve as site technical resource for I&E issues.
- Establish and maintain a compliance culture.
- Set clear goals and directions.
- Promote strong teamwork, collaboration, and shared accountability within the team.
- Create and inspire new ideas.
- Deploys appropriate leadership styles for different situations.
- Provide recognition and constructive feedback.

Education/Experience/Certifications Required
- BS in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 7 years of experience in chemical manufacturing, refining, or technical equivalent.
- Knowledge of various failure mechanisms.
- Thorough knowledge of instrument and control systems associated with pressure vessels, towers, exchangers, pumps, and compressors. Working knowledge of NFPA 70 and 70E.
- Professional Engineering license.
- Working knowledge of Safety Instrument Systems lifecycle in accordance with ANSI/ISA 84.
- Working knowledge of Triconex and Allen-Bradley PLCs.
