Job description

The Engineering Team Lead provides technical leadership and operational oversight for the cybersecurity engineering team at the Florida Department of Management Services, responsible for supporting enterprise security tooling that enables SOC operations. The role ensures reliability and effectiveness of security platforms, data pipelines, and telemetry sources used for threat detection and incident response. The team lead directly manages detection engineering, telemetry optimization, and SOC tool modernization while balancing legacy platform support with development of modern security capabilities. This is an in-office position located in Tallahassee, FL.

Key qualifications:

• Advanced knowledge of SIEM detection engineering concepts and security telemetry sources across endpoint, identity, network, cloud, and application domains
• Experience leading cybersecurity engineering teams and mentoring technical staff with varying skill sets
• Hands-on expertise in detection rule frameworks, data quality management, and SIEM platform operations
• Strong understanding of SOC operations, tool integration, and enterprise architecture standards
