Asplundh Engineering Services has an immediate opening for an experienced Transmission Line Engineer to join our team as a supervisor. This is a remote opportunity.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Meet with our clients and partners on a frequent basis to share and expand our relationships
- Lead a team of engineers in successfully performing transmission line design projects for our clients, including:
- Developing PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE models for new and existing transmission line designs and analyses
- Attending and completing site visits for line inventory, hard spot identification, and construction coordination
- Generating existing line studies, new project estimates, material and pole orders, construction bid specifications and drawings, and as-built closeout documents
- Coordinating with construction, environmental, real estate, and permitting representatives, as well as geotechnical engineering services
- Advise, review, and perform quality control on work performed by others
- Lead in the preparation of proposals, including cost estimates, description of project approach, and scheduling
- Learn from and contribute to other Power Delivery groups, including civil/structural, distribution, and substation design
Minimum Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as a proven commitment to safety and customer service
- Experience in leading a team of engineers is considered a plus
- Competency in the use of PLS CADD software
- Must possess a valid driver’s license, have access to a car, and be comfortable entering transmission line ROWs and line construction sites with proper training and PPE
- Must successfully pass a Criminal History Records Check and drug screen
Education & Experience:- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Transmission Line Design
- Proficiency with typical office software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Windows, drafting software skills are an additional plus
- Professional Engineering license or E.I.T. strongly preferred
- Strong PLS-CADD experience required
