Job summary

Shaner Hotels in Dunwoody (Atlanta) seeks a hands-on Engineering Supervisor to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain building systems, with strong HVAC and plumbing experience. The role requires coordinating with multiple hotel departments and ensuring safety and compliance across all engineering activities.

You will lead maintenance tasks, supervise technicians, and respond to emergencies, while promoting a safe, efficient, and guest-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with HVAC and plumbing systems is strongly preferred.
• Experience with refrigeration, electrical, and general building maintenance is a plus.
• Previous hotel, commercial building, or facilities maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assign and prioritize daily work orders and projects.
• Perform and oversee preventive maintenance throughout the hotel.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, and other mechanical equipment.
• Respond to maintenance emergencies and equipment issues as needed.
• Inspect completed work and ensure repairs are completed properly.
• Coordinate maintenance work with other hotel departments to minimize guest disruption.
• Help maintain and inspect building safety equipment and ensure compliance with applicable codes and safety requirements.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized manner.
• Follow proper safety procedures and chemical handling guidelines.
• Assist with training, scheduling, supervising, and supporting Engineering team members.
• Be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.

• Previous leadership or supervisory experience is a plus.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and building systems.
• Ability to read work orders, equipment manuals, and basic plumbing or electrical diagrams.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance and safe work practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
• Valid driver's license preferred.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position.
