Job summary

Westgate Cocoa Beach Resort is seeking an experienced Engineering Supervisor to lead daily resort maintenance operations, oversee preventive maintenance programs, and manage maintenance teams at Cocoa Beach, FL. The role emphasizes safety, guest experience, and facility improvements across the property.

The ideal candidate will have hospitality engineering management experience, strong troubleshooting skills across HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems, and proven leadership and communication

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of maintenance, engineering, facilities, hotel, resort, or commercial property operations experience.
  • Experience leading maintenance teams, supervising projects, or serving in a lead technician role preferred.
  • Strong hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances, and building mechanical systems.
  • Experience using CMMS or work order software such as HotSOS preferred.
  • Working knowledge of building systems, preventive maintenance programs, and property operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and equipment specifications.
  • Skilled in plumbing repairs, drywall finishing, painting, caulking, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
  • Knowledge of equipment in hospitality environments (water heaters, pumps, motors, elevators).
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with maintenance software, mobile technology, and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, supervise, and lead maintenance projects, guest service calls, preventive maintenance programs, corrective repairs, and work orders.
  • Oversee daily resort engineering operations and support maintenance team productivity and quality standards.
  • Perform routine inspections of guestrooms, public areas, mechanical rooms, and resort infrastructure for safety and reliability.
  • Lead procurement, inventory control, and material management.
  • Analyze maintenance reports and equipment data to identify trends and address repair needs.
  • Communicate professionally via radios, email, phone, and in person.
  • Support plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, drywall maintenance, and preventive tasks.
  • Ensure OSHA standards and resort safety policies are followed.
  • Identify and resolve safety hazards across the property.
  • Operate tools and equipment safely in various environments.
  • Perform maintenance in elevated or confined spaces and varying weather.
  • Deliver guest service by addressing maintenance concerns promptly.
  • Assist leadership with planning, special projects, and emergencies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description

Westgate Resorts is seeking an experienced Engineering Supervisor - Resort Maintenance in Cocoa Beach, Florida to lead daily engineering operations, preventive maintenance programs, facility improvement projects, and resort maintenance teams. This full-time, on-site leadership position plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and overall guest experience of a premier resort destination. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in hospitality engineering, facilities management, HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical maintenance, and team leadership while supporting operational excellence throughout the property.

What you will do:
  • Coordinate, supervise, and lead maintenance projects, guest service calls, facility blitzes, preventive maintenance programs, corrective repairs, and operational work orders.
  • Oversee daily resort engineering operations and support maintenance team productivity, efficiency, and quality standards.
  • Perform routine inspections of guestrooms, public areas, mechanical rooms, and resort infrastructure to ensure safety, compliance, and equipment reliability.
  • Lead procurement, inventory control, and material management processes to maintain appropriate stock levels of parts, supplies, tools, and equipment.
  • Analyze maintenance reports, performance metrics, and equipment data to identify trends and proactively address repair needs.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively via radios, mobile devices, email, phone, and face-to-face interactions.
  • Support resort maintenance activities including plumbing repair, electrical troubleshooting, HVAC maintenance, carpentry, painting, drywall repair, and preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, resort safety policies, and best practices for workplace safety.
  • Identify, report, and resolve potential safety hazards throughout the property.
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, battery-powered equipment, ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and other job‑related equipment.
  • Perform maintenance work in elevated positions, confined spaces, outdoor environments, and varying weather conditions as required.
  • Deliver exceptional guest service by addressing maintenance concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Assist Engineering and Resort Leadership with departmental planning, special projects, emergency response efforts, and operational initiatives.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by Resort Operations Leadership.
