Mecho is hiring for an Engineering Supervisor for our Commercial Business Unit based in Long Island City, NY.

Job Summary
Responsible for managing the activities of creating, innovating, designing, testing, and overall engineering support of custom design and existing products. Scope of the role spans multiple product categories and engineering disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, software, motorization, and test engineering. The role drives process and tools development, manages work activities and schedules, quantifies and manages risk, and coordinates product support and process improvement.
Job Responsibilities
Custom and Existing Product Support – 70%
- Supervise a team of engineers and technicians to support existing products, ECOs, and ECNs.
- Oversee project prioritization and the execution of engineering tasks for custom solutions, coordinating with PMs and Procurement to manage risks, materials, and delivery schedules.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Product Management, etc.) to support product lifecycle management.
- Support the qualification and integration of alternate materials, components, and suppliers.
- Provide leadership across mechanical, electrical, and test engineering functions.
- Ensure Stage‑Gate and Technical Review processes are followed and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
- Drive continuous improvements to productivity, quality, and organizational efficiency.
Department Leadership – 20%
- Promote a collaborative and highly engaged team environment while serving as an inspirational leader, coach, and mentor.
- Lead and coordinate engineering activities, establishing priorities and allocating resources in accordance with business strategies.
- Prepare and issue required reports, summaries, and presentations related to engineering activities.
- Represent the company in industrial and technical organizations.
Miscellaneous – 10%
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering; Master’s preferred.
- 8+ years of product development experience in a high‑production environment.
- 3+ years of people‑management experience, including leading teams through change.
- Experience in consumer goods or consumer durables manufacturing is required.
- Customized product experience is a plus.

Salary and Other Compensation
The annual base for this position is approximately $130,000+, with adjustments for geography, skills, and experience.
Position is eligible for an annual bonus of up to 10%.
