Job summary

Hyatt Regency Baytown is seeking an Engineering Supervisor to lead maintenance operations across guest rooms, meeting spaces, and front/back of house areas. The role requires strong troubleshooting skills in electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems and the ability to read blueprints.

You will supervise and evaluate team performance, schedule work, and respond promptly to guest inquiries and emergencies while ensuring service excellence in a hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years building maintenance experience.
• Strong working knowledge of life-safety systems and major building systems.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills; ability to work varying shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide shift coverage and oversee maintenance tasks across guest rooms, meeting spaces, front and back of house areas.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, HVAC systems; read blueprints and schematics; use computer-based systems.
• Coach and supervise team members, conduct evaluations and deliver recognition and training as needed.
• Respond to guest and team inquiries promptly and handle emergencies per standards.

An Engineering Supervisor will be responsible for shift coverage and therefore must possess strong trouble-shooting skills in all areas of maintenance in guest rooms, meeting space, and front of the house areas, as well as back of house areas including kitchen, laundry, electrical, mechanical and HVAC systems, using a windows based computer system. Ability to read blue prints and schematics is also required.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3-years building maintenance experience is required
• Hotel experience preferred
• A strong working knowledge of all major building systems, including life-safety systems, is required
• Good communication skills are necessary
• Strong leadership skills
• Willingness to work different shifts as the demands of business dictates.
• Respond to guest and team member inquiries, requests and concerns in a timely, friendly and efficient manner
• Respond to emergency situations according to standards and guidelines
• Assist in monitoring and developing team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision, scheduling, conducting evaluations, training and delivering recognition and reward
