Job description

Verdantas is seeking an Engineering Staff I to assist with planning and design of municipal and infrastructure solutions, primarily in the Mentor, Ohio location. The role is designed for recent graduates or emerging professionals who are ready to transition from academic learning to impactful, real‑world engineering.

What You'll Do:

• Provide technical planning and design support on various utility projects that may include storm and sanitary sewer collection systems, water distribution, and other civil engineering projects.
• Prepare engineering calculations to support design.
• Prepare design reports and construction plans using local and state standards.
• Prepare construction plans using AutoCAD 3D and Civil 3D.
• Prepare plans and specifications for public bid.
• Prepare or assist with permit submittals.
• Prepare preliminary project cost estimates and evaluate quantities.
• Assist with or review scope, budget, and schedule of new project tasks.
• Document design changes and communications.
• Conduct on‑site inspections as needed.
• Attend client, public, project, and staff meetings, including client progress, plan review, and preconstruction sessions.

What You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET‑accredited institution.
• 0‑3 years of experience in civil‑site and municipal engineering.
• Familiarity with HydroCAD or other stormwater modeling software is a plus.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and Civil 3D is preferred.
• Engineer's License (EIT) is preferred.
• Familiarity with ArcGIS software is a plus.

Salary Range:

Starting at $68,000.00
