Job summary

Verdantas seeks a Staff Engineer I in Blue Ash, OH (with a Kentucky office in Fort Mitchell) to join a collaborative team focused on civil infrastructure and environmental consulting. You will contribute to roadway design, stormwater modeling, and utility layouts, gaining hands-on experience under licensed engineers.

The role targets recent graduates or early-career professionals, with exposure to AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, and Excel, and mentorship for professional growth; EIT is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
• EIT is preferred.
• 0-2 years of experience in land development civil-site engineering.

Responsibilities

• Support civil infrastructure projects for Northern Kentucky cities, counties, and private clients, including roadway design, stormwater and drainage improvements, and utility infrastructure.
• Assist in preparing engineering plans, drawings, and technical specifications for roadway, transportation, and traffic improvements; include reconstruction, resurfacing, widening, traffic analysis, drainage analysis, sidewalks, bikeways, private development, and utility layouts.
• Perform engineering analysis and calculations using established methods and software tools; including stormwater drainage calculations, grading volume computations, and basic structural checks for small structures.
• Prepare cost estimates and project documentation, including construction cost estimates, technical reports, and permit application packages, ensuring compliance with Kentucky standards and permitting requirements.
• Support construction administration by performing site inspections, documenting progress, responding to field questions, and assisting with project closeout documentation and as-built drawings.
