Job summary

FedEx Logistics is seeking a qualified candidate for a senior operations/engineering role in the United States. The position requires extensive travel up to 75% and a formal relocation package.

Candidates should have a strong background in transportation/logistics operations and engineering disciplines. Ideal applicants will demonstrate expertise in MS Office, Business Objects, and CAD, with proven communication and training abilities.

Minimum Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Logistics, Science, Technology, Engineering, Math required. OR
• An equivalency of four (4) additional years’ experience in the areas below + minimum required experience with a high school diploma/GED or unrelated Bachelor’s degree. Experience in the following areas include: - The transportation industry in a relevant operations management role OR - Industrial Engineering experience in any field

Minimum Experience

• 6 years of industrial or relevant engineering/district staff experience required OR
• 4 years combined Sort and P&D Manager experience required

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office software and web-based applications.
• Working knowledge of Business Objects.
• Verbal and written communication skills necessary to explain complex and/or confidential information.
• Presentation skills necessary to facilitate training and/or deliver informational sessions to groups and/or individuals.
• Time management and organizational skills necessary to manage multiple projects, appropriately prioritize workload, plan for resources to meet deadlines and goals, and respond to day-to-day functional needs.
• Ability to anticipate and identify problems and use sound judgment and fact-based analysis to develop effective and efficient solutions.
• Ability to inspire a shared vision and empower and motivate a team.
• Ability to travel up to 75%.
• Knowledge of concepts related to Material Handling, Computer Aided Design, and Business Object preferred.
• Ability to perform cost justification analysis.

Pay: $82,748.25 - $128,043.30/yr

Actual pay is determined by several job-related factors permitted by law and relevant to the position, including, but not limited to, experience relative to the job, tenure, market level, pay at the location for this job, performance, schedule, and work assignment. In California, the compensation listed reflects the range or rate of pay reasonably expected for this posted position upon hire. In New Jersey, any compensable Security and Walk time will be paid to non-exempt/hourly employees at the state minimum wage.
