Job summary

State of North Carolina - Department of Transportation is seeking an Engineering Specialist I (S) to lead HiCams-related tasks in the Whittier Office. You will compile, analyze, edit, and process field data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contract terms.

The role requires managing monthly and final estimates, resolving pay and material discrepancies, and performing SAP records entries. A combination of education and experience is acceptable, with a valid vehicle operator’s license.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in engineering technology with six years of progressive technician experience; or high school/GED with eight years of progressive technician experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle is required.
  • Experience with HiCams, SAP, SharePoint, and drafting software is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead HiCams Technician duties ensuring compliance with contracts, standards and specifications.
  • Process monthly and final estimates, check calculations, and resolve pay records discrepancies.
  • Research project documents and manage material quantity records and prepayments.
  • Maintain accurate, neat records and perform data entry for project records.
