Job summary

Canadian Valley Electric Cooperative seeks an Engineering Services Superintendent to lead the Engineering team and oversee daily engineering activities supporting the electric distribution system. The role emphasizes safe, reliable service and cross-department collaboration on project delivery.

You will drive system design, capital projects, and long-term infrastructure planning while mentoring staff, improving processes, and applying technical solutions across the cooperative network.

Qualifications

• Engineering experience in electric distribution or a related utility environment.
• Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Associate degree or technical certificate required; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Engineering Department and oversee daily engineering work.
• Manage engineering projects and coordinate with the Senior Electrical Engineer.
• Support the Cooperative to ensure safe, reliable service.
• Assist with distribution system planning, capital projects, and long-term infrastructure.
• Provide engineering expertise, review designs, and tackle complex system challenges.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, technology, standards, and efficiency.

Job description

The Engineering Services Superintendent will lead the Engineering team and oversee the daily engineering work that supports Canadian Valley Electric Cooperative's electric distribution system.

Essential Functions:

• Team Management: Provide direction, coaching, and accountability to the Engineering Department.
• Manage Engineering Projects: Work with the Senior Electrical Engineer for system design, system improvements, subdivisions, and other Engineering projects.
• Support the Cooperative: Partner with other departments to ensure engineering decisions support safe, reliable service.
• Future Planning: Support distribution system planning, capital projects, system improvements, and long-term infrastructure needs.
• Technical Experience: Provides engineering expertise, review designs and plans, and help solve complex system challenges.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve processes, technology, standards, and efficiency.

Education and Experience:
