Job description

Forney Industries, a family-owned welding and metalworking product company with over 93 years of history, is seeking an Engineering Service Technician. The role requires extensive knowledge of welding and metalworking products, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical equipment, and providing technical support to customers and internal teams.

Hourly range: $20.00-$22.00

Responsibilities include:

• Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repair
• Developing service manuals and procedures
• Providing technical support to warranty service centers and customers
• Maintaining testing and training labs
• Creating training materials and delivering technical training
• Performing root cause analysis and writing technical bulletins
• Ensuring a safe working environment
• Operating advanced testing equipment

Qualifications:

• Technical Associate’s Degree preferred; minimum two years’ experience in electrical/mechanical service and repair
• Ability to read technical drawings and wiring diagrams
• Knowledge of welders and welding accessories
• Proficiency with computer systems for inventory and service management
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform strenuous physical activity
