Job summary

Shape is seeking recent college graduates to join a rotation program spanning several cross-functional engineering areas, with eventual placement in a full-time role at an agreed-upon engineering location.

The program focuses on new product development, design verification for engineering changes, and serving as Shape's engineering representative on customer vehicle teams. Placement may include CAE, DFMEA and related activities, supporting prototype builds and launches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering; GPA ≥ 3.0.
• Masters degree preferred; equivalent work experience may substitute.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities in innovation, people development, strategy and results.
• Strong teamwork, problem solving, customer focus, communication and respect.

Responsibilities

• Learn work area to provide value to the team.
• Act as Engineering liaison between customer teams and manufacturing.
• Develop projects meeting customer requirements to win new business.
• Lead development projects with Product Design & CAE staff.
• Provide CAD background, drawings and background data to CAE.
• Incorporate design for manufacturing initiatives in product design.
• Draft and maintain DFMEA and related engineering documents for projects.
• Oversee prototype builds and support production launches on-site.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure designs meet requirements.
• Participate in APQP and VA/VE activities as needed.
