Job summary

HDR is seeking a Transportation Intern for Summer 2027. You will gain real-world experience on transportation projects, support roadway design efforts, and interact with leaders through mentoring programs.

You will learn standard engineering techniques and utilize Bentley OpenRoads Designer, Autodesk Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office tools under supervision of a Professional Engineer or Project Manager. Preferred candidates are enrolled in civil engineering programs with strong problem-solving and

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program.
Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Basic Microsoft Office skills.

Responsibilities

Gain real-world experience on transportation projects.
Support roadway design projects of various sizes and scopes.
Connect with recent graduates and company leaders through mentoring programs.
Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures.
Perform assignments under supervision of a Professional Engineer or Project Manager.
Learn and perform assignments with software packages such as Bentley OpenRoads Designer and Autodesk Civil 3D.
Utilize Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Assist Lead Engineer in preparation of permitting documents and drawings.
