This role manages multiple complex engineering projects involving cross-functional coordination across product development, value chain, and manufacturing. The successful candidate will lead initiatives that support the TPG (Tucson Proving Ground) Large Mining Truck fleet, and will play a key role in optimizing maintenance, testing, and technology integration.

What You Will Do

• Develop project scope to address business challenges and opportunities.

• Coordinate resources across sales and marketing, product development groups, value chain, and manufacturing.

• Oversee project progress and costs; communicate status with stakeholders and functional areas; address and resolve problems.

• Direct project staffing; motivate and develop project team and team members.

• Support lab and machine testing, fleet management, and product support for LMT (Large Mining Trucks).

• Collaborate with proving ground teams to expand testing capabilities and integrate base truck testing.

• Drive synergy across the entire TPG fleet, applying best practices across the facility.

• Lead efforts to reduce unplanned maintenance and implement systems to improve operational efficiency.

Working knowledge of product and service linkages, delivery methods, and market research.

Extensive experience in resolving technical challenges, mentoring others, and delivering superior solutions.

  • Influencing Through Expertise:

Working knowledge of influencing tactics, decision-making support, and credibility building.

  • Project Management:

Extensive experience in planning, estimating, staffing, and monitoring significant projects.

  • Team Management:

Working knowledge of team building, goal setting, and performance management.

  • Requirements Analysis:

Extensive experience in documenting, modeling, and reviewing business and technical requirements.

  • Troubleshooting Technical Problems:

Extensive experience in diagnosing and resolving high-impact technical issues.

  • Product Design and Development:

Extensive experience in designing, prototyping, and managing complex product development.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Awell-established background in engineering, particularly in design and product support, with demonstrated career progression.
  • A 'fixer' mentality, someone who can proactively identify and resolve issues, reduce unplanned maintenance, and drive continuous improvement.

Additional Details:
  • This role is based at the Tucson Proving Grounds and follows an in-office schedule. A 9/80 schedule may be offered at the manager’s discretion.

Summary Pay Range:

$110,520.00 - $165,840.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location,job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
