Job description

Engineering Project Manager — Wallet & Apple Pay

New York City, New York, United States Software and Services

The Wallet & Apple Pay PMO is looking for a driven, design-minded Engineering Project Manager to help ship experiences used by hundreds of millions of people every day. This is an exciting environment where technical fluency, design partnership, and sound judgment under ambiguity are keys to success. If you possess unshakeable integrity, genuine curiosity, and the range to move seamlessly between leadership briefings and engineering triage, we'd love to hear from you!

Description

In this role, you will manage projects and support roadmap execution for the Wallet client engineering teams, focusing on delivering the UI and experiences that bring new Wallet capabilities to life. You will partner directly with engineering managers, Human Interface producers, and cross-functional groups across Apple. Under the guidance of PMO leadership, you will help drive the scoping, planning, and execution of key initiatives — coordinating design deliverables against engineering milestones and ensuring teams stay aligned so features launch on time and at the quality our users expect.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the app engineers responsible for building the Wallet UI to plan, track, and manage the development of features and release of our software.

  • Partner with our Human Interface producers and designers to plan design deliverables against engineering milestones, ensuring specs, assets, and design decisions land in time to keep development on schedule.

  • Coordinate cross-functional work streams spanning engineering, design, and quality, and represent program status to stakeholders at all levels.

  • Proactively surface risk, drive timely decisions, and unblock teams — including navigating the privacy, security, and financial-partner review cycles specific to your domain.

  • Own release quality and stability commitments for the client UI, balancing engineering constraints against design fidelity and timeline.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years of project management experience in a technical software development environment, including experience coordinating with design or design-production teams.

  • Strong track record coordinating cross-functional work streams across engineering, design, and quality to deliver high quality features with minimal supervision, at a company/product operating at large scale.

  • Experience managing feature delivery in regulated or high-consequence domains with compliance, security, or bank/financial-partner review gates (e.g., payments, identity, or health).

  • Proven ability to proactively identify risks, drive decision-making, and unblock teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to navigate technical ambiguity, triage development bugs, and drive cross-functional decision-making under minimal supervision.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with comfort presenting to and influencing stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership.

  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience partnering with mobile/native client engineering teams (iOS, Android, or embedded) through the full build-test-release cycle.

  • Familiarity with modern engineering workflows, including standard bug-tracking systems, GitHub, and AI-assisted development tools

  • Prior experience mentoring or setting process direction for other EPMs.
