Job summary

Kammerer Dynamics Inc. seeks an Engineering Project Manager to sit at the heart of our design department on a full-time, on-site basis in Kendallville, Indiana.

You will own the engineering schedule, drive the submittal process, and ensure that prints flow smoothly into fabrication-ready shop packages. You will coordinate across Tekla Structures and Autodesk Inventor, acting as the primary technical translator between contractors, engineers of record, and shop floor leads.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Own the design team schedule and move projects from customer prints to fabrication-ready shop packages.
• Own the submittal process, respond to RFIs, and minimize bottlenecks.
• Guard the timeline and mitigate delays to meet delivery milestones.
• Bridge the gap with Tekla Structures and Autodesk Inventor to extract needed data for production.
• Act as primary technical translator between general contractors, engineers, and shop floor leads.

Please Note: This is a full-time, on-site position located in Kendallville, Indiana. Applicants must currently reside in the United States, be legally authorized to work in the U.S., and be able to work on-site daily. Visa sponsorship is not available. Remote work is not offered.

We have the lasers, the press brakes, and a shop full of talented fabricators ready to burn steel—but a high-production floor is only as fast as the engineering pipeline feeding it. We are looking for an Engineering Project Manager to sit directly at the heart of our design department. We don’t need a paper-pusher; we need a logistical driver who can dive headfirst into construction prints, aggressively manage the submittal process, and navigate our 3D models to ensure our two-shift operation never hits a bottleneck. If you treat a missed due date like an emergency, you’re the person we want running our pipeline.

The Mission

Command the Engineering Pipeline: You own the schedule for our design team. Your success is measured by how efficiently you move structural and custom jobs from raw customer prints into finalized, fabrication‑ready shop packages.

Kill Approval Bottlenecks: Take complete ownership of the submittal process. You are the “closer” who hunts down approvals, answers customer RFIs, and ensures revisions don’t trap our jobs in limbo.

Protect the Due Dates: You are the ultimate guardian of the timeline. You look down the road, spot potential delays before they happen, and work the problem to ensure our shop hits every single delivery milestone.

Bridge the Gap with Tech: Our team draws across both Tekla Structures (for structural projects) and Autodesk Inventor (for custom fabrication). You don't need to be a professional drafter, but you must have the drive and capability to learn how to navigate these models, view assemblies, and extract the accurate data our production crew needs.

Fluent Communication: Act as the primary technical translator between general contractors, engineers of record, our internal design team, and the shop floor leads.

Qualifications

Print Literacy: A strong proficiency in reading and interpreting structural steel and industrial manufacturing blueprints is a major asset. You know what a connection detail looks like and how to spot a layout discrepancy.

The “Driver” Mindset: You possess the proactive “push” required to keep an aggressive manufacturing environment ahead of schedule. You don't wait for updates; you go get them.

Software Savvy: Highly comfortable with technology. A willingness and ability to learn how to open and navigate Tekla and Autodesk Inventor models to track project data on the fly is required.

Organizational Mastery: You can manage multiple complex projects simultaneously without losing track of a single piece mark, submittal status, or delivery date.
