Job summary

Terrestrial Energy is seeking a Project Manager – Engineering to lead multiple complex projects within our Reactor Pilot Program and Fuel Line Pilot Facility in Charlotte, NC. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage schedules, budgets, and risks while ensuring compliance with nuclear safety and regulatory requirements.

The role requires a strong engineering/physics background, 7–10 years of PM experience in technical settings, and proven success in regulated environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or related technical field.
  • 7–10 years of project-management experience in complex technical environments.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the nuclear industry or a comparable highly regulated sector.
  • Proven track record managing projects with budgets exceeding $5M.
  • Strong understanding of nuclear reactor systems and fuel-cycle processes.
  • Familiarity with nuclear regulatory frameworks (DOE, NRC, CNSC, or international equivalents).
  • Strong interpersonal skills to liaise and build collaborative relationships across all levels.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and Visio for project scheduling, documentation, data analysis, and visual communication.
  • High computer proficiency and quick adaptability to new software tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead simultaneous project streams across Reactor Pilot Program and Fuel Line Pilot Facility.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation for multiple initiatives.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, safety, QA, licensing, and regulatory compliance.
  • Implement and maintain PM methodologies appropriate for nuclear technology development environments.
  • Track and report project progress, risks, and mitigation strategies to senior management.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and governance committees to align pilot objectives with strategic goals.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers and EPC contractors ensuring timely delivery and quality.
  • Develop risk registers and ensure adherence to nuclear QA programs and safety protocols.
  • Lead root-cause analyses and corrective actions when issues arise.
