HNTB is seeking a Project Manager II – Engineering to lead multi‑disciplinary teams on civil aviation projects in Austin and San Antonio. You will develop project scope, manage budgets and schedules, and coordinate with clients and partners to deliver value on time and on budget.
This role requires a bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 10 years of relevant experience, plus strong contract negotiations, proposal development, and team leadership.

We are seeking a project manager with civil aviation engineering experience to assist with pursuing and delivering projects for various airport clients, including Austin Bergstrom International Airport, San Antonio International Airport, and other strategically important clients. This opportunity entails being responsible for managing assigned project(s) throughout their full lifecycle, including developing the scope and technical sections of proposal and procurement documents to participating in contract negotiations and overseeing the delivery of the project plan to successfully accomplish HNTB’s 4 for 4 performance: delivery of quality work, on time, on budget, and to the client’s satisfaction on every project. This position proactively manages the budget, schedule, technical requirements, contractual obligations, and client communications in support of the project’s objectives. Provides high-level technical tasks while managing and reviewing design‑related specifications, calculations, reports, and plans. Coordinates with internal and external partners, including cross‑discipline and functional teams, to address and problem‑solve design‑related issues or concerns. The Project Manager II – Engineering typically manages multi‑disciplinary project team(s) for one or more strategic (<$1M) or mini‑mega ($1M to <$5M) projects, or may lead and/or work as a discipline lead on a mega ($5M to < $25M) project management team. In addition to project responsibilities, this position will provide strategic advice and analysis and engage in marketing and business development efforts for pursuits across the aviation market. The person will work with the line organization in a senior role on strategically important client and project pursuits, providing technical input and market knowledge to navigate complex projects and enhance win probabilities and client satisfaction. This position will identify, pursue, and execute high‑level airport projects.
