Job summary

Direct Recruiters, Inc. is partnering with a growing industrial technology manufacturer in the Tampa Bay area to hire an Engineering Project Manager / Engineering Manager who will own engineering execution across R&D and manufacturing support.

This role goes beyond a traditional PM; you will lead an engineering team, establish accountability, improve processes, prioritize resources, and drive technical projects from concept through successful production launch with authority to make an immediate

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or closely related technical discipline.
• Engineering background with enough technical depth to effectively lead and challenge experienced engineers.
• Experience leading engineers and/or multidisciplinary technical teams.
• Strong project leadership and execution skills within a physical product manufacturing environment.
• Experience bringing engineered products from development through manufacturing.
• Ability to work across R&D, manufacturing, quality, procurement, and commercial teams.
• Strong organizational skills with a track record of creating accountability and keeping complex projects moving.
• Experience with industrial automation, sensors, controls, electronics, electromechanical products, or similar engineered industrial products is highly desirable.
• Comfortable operating in a growing organization where processes are being improved and scaled.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team spanning R&D, electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, test, and related technical functions.
• Drive engineering projects from initial requirements through design, prototyping, validation, launch, and stable production.
• Establish project structure, priorities, timelines, ownership, and accountability across the engineering organization.
• Serve as the key link between Engineering and Product Management, Operations, Quality, Procurement, Sales, and other business functions.
• Improve the transition of new products from R&D into manufacturing.
• Lead engineering response to production issues, product improvements, quality challenges, component substitutions, cost-reduction initiatives, and customer-driven modifications.
• Build and improve scalable engineering processes, project reviews, stage-gate practices, documentation, and performance metrics.
• Keep technical teams focused, remove roadblocks, resolve competing priorities, and ensure projects actually get across the finish line.
• Help build an engineering organization capable of supporting significant future growth and a larger pipeline of new products.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Engineering

We are partnering with a growing industrial technology manufacturer in the Tampa Bay area that is investing heavily in its engineering organization, new product development capabilities, and next phase of growth.

We’re looking for a Engineering Project Manager / Engineering Manager to take ownership of engineering execution across both R&D and manufacturing/production support.

This is not a traditional project manager role where you simply track schedules and run meetings. This person will lead an engineering team, establish accountability, improve processes, prioritize resources, and drive technical projects from concept through successful production launch.

You’ll be joining an established, successful business that is actively modernizing its engineering organization and giving this leader the authority to make an immediate impact.

What You’ll Own
