Job summary

Integris Composites in Hebron, Ohio, seeks an Engineering Project Manager to lead advanced protection solutions from concept to delivery, coordinating across engineering, supply chain, quality and business development teams.

You will supervise product development plans, ensure AS9100 and industry standards, manage changes, and drive risk and documentation. Travel up to 20% and eligibility for security clearance required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering; MBA preferred or in progress.
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience.
  • Minimum 5 years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience within a structured quality management system.
  • Defense industry or similarly regulated environments experience.
  • Strong understanding of Life Cycle Management (LCM) processes.
  • Experience coordinating qualification testing and certification processes.
  • Ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%.
  • Eligibility for security clearance at Secret level.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering projects from concept through development, qualification, and production.
  • Develop and execute product development plans; ensure compliance with AS9100 and industry standards.
  • Manage all engineering changes, documentation, and agreements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Plan and lead design reviews (PDR/CDR) and coordinate qualification testing.
  • Prepare qualification test plans and support certification processes (e.g., NIJ, FAT).
  • Coordinate with external labs and institutions for testing.
  • Develop technical documentation, reports, and after-sales materials.
  • Own risk management activities and maintain risk registers.
  • Collaborate with supply chain and production on sourcing and program execution.
  • Support business development through proposals and technical solutions.
  • Develop bills of materials (EBOM) and provide input for pricing and planning.

About the Position

The Engineering Project Manager plays a key role within the R&D and Armor Development team, leading projects from initial concept through final delivery. This role combines technical leadership with structured project management, ensuring that products meet performance, quality, and certification requirements. You will work cross-functionally with engineering, supply chain, quality, and business development teams, while also interacting with customers, suppliers, and certification bodies. You will also support business development efforts by contributing to proposals and technical solutions

This position is based in Integris’ office in Hebron, OH, and reports directly to the SVP of Engineering. Up to 20% of international travel is expected.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering projects from concept through development, qualification, and production
  • Develop and execute product development plans and ensure compliance with internal and industry standards (including AS9100)
  • Manage all engineering changes, documentation, and agreements throughout the project lifecycle
  • Plan and lead design reviews, including Preliminary Design Review (PDR) and Critical Design Review (CDR)
  • Prepare qualification test plans, coordinate testing activities, and support certification processes (e.g. NIJ, FAT)
  • Lead qualification testing activities and coordinate with external labs and institutions
  • Develop technical documentation, reports, and after-sales support materials
  • Own risk management activities, including development and follow-up of risk registers
  • Collaborate with supply chain and production on sourcing, make/buy decisions, and program execution
  • Support business development by contributing to proposals, compliance matrices, and technical solutions
  • Develop bills of materials (EBOM) and define engineering input for pricing and program planning

What We Expect from You

Your Work Experience, Education, & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field. MBA completed or in progress
  • Min. 5 years of experience in project management

  • Experience from the defense industry or similarly regulated environments
