Job summary

Power Design, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Project Manager to lead engineering projects from inception to completion across the nation. You will guide teams of engineers, designers, stakeholders, and contractors to deliver on time and within budget while maintaining high quality standards.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, strong project management skills, and excellent communication. PMP or Master’s degree is a plus, with opportunities for relocation and career growth

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field; Master’s degree or PMP is a plus.
  • Proven experience in project management, preferably in engineering/technical fields.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and processes.
  • Excellent project management skills and proficiency with project management software.
  • Effective leadership and team management abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble project teams, assign responsibilities and foster a collaborative, efficient environment.
  • Manage budgets, track expenditures, control costs, and address variances.
  • Identify risks, assess impact, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Establish and enforce quality standards meeting client and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop schedules, set timelines, monitor progress, and adjust resources.
  • Communicate status updates to stakeholders, teams, and clients.
  • Allocate and manage project resources including personnel, equipment, and materials.
  • Keep project scope defined and document any changes for approval.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation (reports, plans, contracts, specs).
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Lead procurement for materials and services, including vendor selection and contracts.

About the Position

This role sits in the driver’s seat, collaborating with a stellar team of engineers, designers, stakeholders, and contractors to bring our designs to life across the nation. Position Responsibilities
  • Assemble project teams, assign responsibilities, provide clear direction and guidance, and foster a collaborative and efficient team environment.
  • Manage project budgets, track expenditures, ensure cost control throughout the project lifecycle, and identify and address budget variances.
  • Identify potential risks, assess their impact, and develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • Establish and enforce quality standards and ensure that project deliverables meet or exceed client and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop project schedules, set timelines, monitor progress, and adjust schedules and resources as needed to meet project deadlines.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with project stakeholders, team members, and clients as well as provide status updates and address project-related issues.
  • Allocate and manage project resources including personnel, equipment, and materials.
  • Ensure that project scope remains well-defined and that any scope changes are documented, approved, and incorporated into project plans.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation, including reports, plans, contracts, and technical specifications.
  • Ensure that engineering projects comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Manage the procurement process for necessary materials and services, including vendor selection, contracts, and supplier relationships.
Here’s What We’re Looking For
