Base pay range

$125,000.00/yr - $140,000.00/yr

A typical product design spans all engineering disciplines, including Industrial Design, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Firmware/Embedded Software Engineering, Software Engineering, and design for manufacturing (DFM).

Job Summary:

The Engineering Project Manager is responsible for guiding projects involving the SEACOMP engineering design services team from inception through to mass production. This includes projects that customers have hired SEACOMP to design and manufacture on their behalf as well as internal projects that require engineering resources.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with SEACOMP sales and engineering leadership to develop engineering proposals and project plans
  • Own project scope, budget, schedule and quality
  • Track and report key project metrics internally and externally
  • Update and maintain project plans and documentation
  • Lead regular project status meetings with relevant external and internal stakeholders
  • Manage projects from engineering start, through new product introduction (NPI) and into mass production
  • Identify and mitigate risks and obstacles to the success of each project
  • Interact with sales, engineering, production, quality, sourcing and any other departments as needed to meet project objectives
  • Travel occasionally to customer locations and SEACOMP factories in service of project objectives

Language

  • Must demonstrate advanced professional competency in English, including speaking, listening, reading and writing
  • Skills in Spanish are not required, but are a plus
  • Skills in Mandarin Chinese or Cantonese are not required, but are a plus

Education / Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering highly preferred
  • 1-2 years of project management experience
  • 3+ years in product development, experience with New Product Introduction and/or scaling products into volume manufacturing
  • Passing the Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification exam will be required if not already held
