Job summary

UL Solutions is seeking a qualified engineer for a role in our testing and compliance services team in the United States. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering and internship experience is preferred.

You will determine project scope, develop test plans, coordinate client communications and manage documentation, samples, and scheduling with UL requirements and standards. Travel to client sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Internship experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determines project scope, develops a preliminary plan of investigation, and determines project specifications such as cost, time, and sample requirements by analyzing client input, available data, and product construction.
• Projects may include travel to conduct or witness tests at client sites and to promote and explain the benefits of new services.
• Communicates with clients to discuss technical issues, explain UL procedures and requirements, convey project cost, and negotiate completion date and sample requirements.
• Coordinates laboratory activities by preparing data sheets and instructions to technicians, scheduling, and reviewing work, and establishing completion dates.
• Assists in developing UL requirements and test methods and coordinates administrative aspects of project management.
