Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking an Engineering Administrative Support professional to assist software and systems engineers with documentation, process and general engineering-related support activities. You will coordinate staffing, maintain records, and act as a key point of contact for inquiries during the artifact pre-release phase.

The ideal candidate will have a HS diploma or AA/AS with 4+ years of relevant experience, strong communication, and the ability to obtain a U.S.

Qualifications

  • Requires HS Diploma or AA/AS with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship required for security clearance eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Staffing meetings and loading anticipated demand; remove/add staffing as needed.
  • Update Staffing Center entries and ensure accurate records.
  • Perform peer reviews and PREP activities.
  • Process part number requests and releases for Navy projects.
  • Assist with program access (OPSECS) and cost of sales (CoS) file completion monthly.
  • Track CDRL deliveries and participate in status meetings.
  • Coordinate with project teams and support functions to communicate schedule and status.

The EPA will be responsible for assisting software and systems engineers with administrative, documentation, process, and general engineering related support activities. Individuals must demonstrate the ability to support several engineers, providing a wide variety of administrative and computer skills to assist engineering projects. Assignments typically include:

  • Preliminary document formatting and preparation utilizing computing resources with a variety of applications.
  • Performs as primary engineering support focal point for inquiries and problem resolution during the artifact pre-release phase.
  • Support to the release and revision phases of the engineering development cycle
  • Performs project non-technical duties.
  • Serves as process and tool expert for engineering design teams.
  • Must possess ability to coordinate and lead activities as well as strong organization and analytical skills.

We are seeking a candidate with strong written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, highly detail oriented, interpersonal skills, ability to work on teams in a collaborative environment, ability to receive work from peers, engineers and managers, quick learner, ability to retain information quickly and a proactive self-starter.

What You Will Do
  • Staffing meetings/loading anticipated demand/removing demand/ adding staffing
  • Staffing Center updates and entries as needed
  • Peer reviews / PREP
  • SCL / part number requests and releases
  • OPSECS – Assisting with program access
  • CoS (Cost of Sales) File completion – Monthly
  • Program R&O monthly meetings and follow up
  • Patch Disk PREP and delivery monthly
  • Track CDRL deliveries to customers
  • BIDs, third party reviewer
  • CAC application processing
  • Program part number requests- own and assign part numbers for new projects given by Navy
  • Edits format of required documentation.
  • Prepares presentations.
  • Coordinates the interaction of project/program team and support functions to communicate schedule and status.
  • Often facilitates internal and/or external meetings.
  • Assists with tracking of Change Orders
  • Participates in status meetings
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 43,400 USD - 82,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
