Skylo is a global Non-Terrestrial Network service provider based in Mountain View, CA, offering a service that allows smartphone and IoT cellular devices to connect directly over existing satellites.

Skylo’s direct-to-device service is now live across four continents, with more than 50 million square kilometers of coverage, in partnership with multiple satellite operators, mobile network operators (MNOs), Tier-1 chipset makers, and OEMs. Devices connected over satellite are managed and served by Skylo's commercial NTN vRAN, featuring a 3GPP standards-based cloud-native base station and core. Skylo provides anywhere, anytime connectivity solutions that seamlessly roams between terrestrial and satellite networks. Our focus is on enabling connected services for people outdoors and connected workflows across three main verticals: mass-market consumer devices, automotive, and industrial IoT.

This role is located in Espoo, Finland where we are onsite 3 days a week in office.

Summary Of How You Will Impact Skylo

Skylo Technologies seeks a highly motivated Engineering Program Manager to lead and track engineering projects in telecommunications, including RAN, Core Networks, and external initiatives. The role involves managing cross-functional teams, collaborating with vendors and stakeholders, and proactively addressing potential challenges. This individual will also communicate detailed project statuses and must have a strong technical background in networking and telecommunications.

How You Will Contribute
  • Oversee the day-to-day project and engineering program activities and their status, drive their completion from the planning stage to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time.
  • Serve as the primary contact for external customers and vendors regarding project statuses, issues, and deliverables.
  • Drive non-engineering tasks such as hosting meetings, addressing queries from engineering, sales, vendors, and product management teams.
  • Escalate issues to the appropriate engineering teams and ensure they clearly understand priorities.
  • Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria.
  • Work cross-functionally to develop and refine project timelines, product requirements, and company-defined OKRs.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to gather learnings, retrospective feedback, and implement process improvements.
  • Effective upward communication and timely escalation are essential.
What We Look For
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in project and engineering program management, focused on telecommunications or the wireless industry.
  • Additional expertise in projects across Core, RAN, and other telecom technologies.
  • Proficiency in waterfall, scrum, and agile methodologies.
  • Experience with program management tools such as JIRA.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with external stakeholders (e.g., vendors, clients, network operators, chipset manufacturers).
  • Comfortable in fast-paced, dynamic environments, adapting quickly to changing priorities.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
