Job summary

The City of Charlotte is seeking an Engineering Program Manager to lead the Environmental Management Division (EMD) engineering efforts for Charlotte Water. You will oversee CIP projects, rehab and upgrades, and ensure compliance with permits and EMS requirements.

You will mentor staff, coordinate with design and construction teams, manage budgets and schedules, and promote continuous improvement in wastewater treatment and biosolids handling.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field.
• Minimum five years of engineering or construction management experience.
• Two years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage EMD engineering projects and CIP oversight.
• Coordinate with design, construction teams and stakeholders.
• Review plans, specs, and budgets; monitor schedules.
• Provide technical guidance on wastewater treatment and biosolids handling.
• Supervise senior engineers and assign project tasks.
• Ensure compliance with permits and EMS ISO 14001.
• Support environmental management program and continuous improvement.
