Dynamis is seeking an Engineering Product Line Manager in the Houston area. This role is the single point of accountability for the success of assigned product lines, coordinating with core engineering, manufacturing, and external partners to support design and sustaining efforts.

Responsibilities include staffing, leading design reviews, and ensuring safety processes are followed while meeting deadlines. Strong communication and leadership skills are required.

Qualifications

  • Four-year technical bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Three or more years of project management experience.
  • Knowledge of turbine packaging or related design work is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% for business needs.

Job Description

Reports To: VP of Engineering

Location: Houston, TX (The Woodlands Area)

Amount of Travel Required: Up to 20%

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

The Engineering Product Line Manager is the single point of accountability for the overall success of assigned product lines. This position ensures the engineering disciplines supporting each product line are appropriately staffed, organized, and progressing in new design and sustaining product line work; coordinates with core engineering branches, integration, manufacturing, third party engineering firms, and shared services; and supports the execution of product line design intent, deadlines, and milestones.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Ensure core engineering disciplines supporting assigned product lines are staffed and functioning effectively.
  • Lead basic model visualization efforts for assigned product lines for upper management.
  • Ensure Dynamis design intent and core values are integrated and executed.
  • Communicate, obtain approval for, and monitor product line deadlines and milestones.
  • Lead planned and unplanned design reviews with upper management.
  • Ensure teams perform work in accordance with safety processes, standard operating procedures, and site specific policies.
  • Provide training and continued learning opportunities within assigned product lines.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to assist with successful operations and business continuity.
Qualifications: POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Overtime based on business needs.
  • Successfully passes all applicable general pre employment testing including but not limited to: background check, pre employment drug screening, pre employment fit tests, pre employment aptitude and/or competency assessment(s).
  • Daily in person, predictable attendance.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License required. Most employment is contingent upon meeting company driving standards, including 3 year U.S. driving history and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) in accordance with Company policy.
  • Proficiency in spoken English language.
  • Ability to travel based on business needs.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE LEVEL
Required
  • Four year technical bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering.An equivalent combination of education, specialized training, and relevant professional experience will be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
  • Three or more years of project management experience.
Preferred
  • Three or more years of design or design software experience.
  • Turbine packaging experience.
  • Mobile turbine packaging experience.
  • Knowledge of aero and industrial turbines.
  • An equivalent combination of education, specialized training, and relevant professional experience will be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, AND ABILITIES
  • Ability to attend, participate, and successfully complete the scheduled New Hire Safety training, including but not limited to H2S, Powered Industrial, and basic First Aid and CPR training.
  • Attends and successfully completes annual safety and operations recertification training.
  • Able to communicate in a technical manner around clients.
  • Ability to successfully work within a team environment to complete assigned tasks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledgeable and compliant with digital platforms including Active Learner, Paycom, KPA, and other company mandated systems. For new hires, ability to quickly learn and navigate company platforms.
  • Ability to take instruction well and interact with other employees in a positive manner within the framework of assigned work groups.
  • Efficient at Microsoft office (word, excel, PowerPoint, outlook).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

Employees are required to walk, sit, climb, bend, reach, and squat or kneel on a daily basis. They are frequently required to visit jobsites where the work environment may include exposure to hazardous materials, operating conditions, audio levels up to 85 dB, inclement weather, and extreme hot and cold temperatures. Due to these conditions, employees are required to wear company mandated and company issued Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including fire retardant coveralls, safety hat, steel toe boots, safety glasses, ear protection, and safety gloves, and must strictly adhere to all safety policies and procedures. When not traveling on job assignments, employees work in a warehouse or shop environment where they may be exposed to common hazards such as physical strain, moving machinery, loading and unloading activities, falling objects, and slip, trip, and fall risks. Employees are regularly required to lift heavy objects and must be able to independently lift up to 49 lbs. and lift 50 to 100 lbs. with a team assist.

Work hours may include or includes early morning, late evenings, and weekends, depending on business necessity.
