Job summary

Prefix-Corporation is seeking an Engineering Department Manager who will also act as a working manager responsible for the overall image and performance of the Prefix Engineering department. The role covers operation, maintenance, growth and improvement of the department and handling internal and external customer projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years hands-on prototype engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of automotive engineering standards.
• Engineering degree required.
• Ability to supervise personnel and coordinate workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement new policies and procedures for department growth.
• Direct department activities through subordinates and motivate staff.
• Conduct employee performance evaluations and merit reviews.
• Develop departmental plans, objectives and budgets.
• Ensure projects meet timelines and stay under budget.
• Provide inter-departmental support and respond to customer needs.
• Utilize CAD tools to design, modify or develop parts.
• Assist the Director of Product Development as needed.
