Job summary

General Motors is seeking an Engineering Group Manager to lead the Engineering Process CoE, shaping process standards and operational plans that impact enterprise results. You will align with Global Product Safety Principles and drive cross-functional collaboration across GM units.

The role requires strong leadership of engineering process owners, a background in Lean methods, and a proven ability to reduce complexity while delivering scalable solutions company-wide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 8+ years of process improvement experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication across all organizational levels.
• Experience leading global teams and driving cross-functional changes.
• Knowledge of industry policies, safety standards, and business systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop 15–20 process owners and SMEs within the CoE.
• Streamline processes, ensure safety and compliance, and drive standardization.
• Identify efficiency opportunities and remove roadblocks to enable execution.
• Partner with internal audit, safety, and cross-functional owners to close gaps.
• Drive succession planning, coaching, and performance development.
