Job summary

Cummins Inc. seeks an enthusiastic Engineering Plant Support Placement Student to join the Power Systems Business segment in Daventry, United Kingdom. This onsite placement focuses on supporting engineering activities and gaining exposure to a major global organisation.

The role requires 3 days onsite per week with travel or relocation as needed. The position commences in Summer 2027 and targets placement-year students in mechanical, automotive, aeronautical engineering or related STEM fields.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a mechanical/automotive/aerospace engineering or related STEM degree.
• Placement year required, 12 months.
• On-site work and relocation/travel required as needed.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a key link between Operations teams (Quality, Manufacturing, Materials Planning) and Engineering.
• Work cross-functionally in a fast-paced manufacturing environment to address technical and operational issues across multiple lines.
• Lead technical investigations, collaborate with SMEs, and drive issues to resolution.
• Lead at least one PDECR from concept through implementation using basic project management principles.
• Build a cross-functional network and develop broad technical skills and product knowledge.
