Job summary

Acara Solutions is seeking an Engineering Planner for our Wilmington, MA site. You will support New Product Introduction processes, align material needs, and update BOMs in SAP to speed R&D and production workflows in collaboration with engineering, supply chain and program management teams.

Candidates should have SAP ERP experience, strong purchasing/planning knowledge, and a BS in operations management, finance, materials, or computer information sciences.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Operations Management, Finance, Materials Management or Computer Information Sciences.
• 5+ years in Purchasing/Planning roles.
• 5+ years collaborating across all organizational levels.

Responsibilities

• Plans, schedules and monitors product development processes.
• Coordinates production plans ensuring material availability.
• Manages on-time delivery against ship dates.
• Resolves capacity and material constraints affecting schedules.
• Approves parts lists and material orders for production.
• Maintains BOMs and ECOs in SAP and supports NPI changes.
• Coordinates release of parts to production and manages work orders.

About the Opportunity

• This is a new site for AE, driving cutting edge technology for the organization.
• In this role, you'll be responsible for supporting key New Product Introduction (NPI) processes in collaboration with the Engineering, Supply Chain and Program Management teams at AE.
• You will be responsible for aligning on material needs to meet key project deliverables and updating the Bill of Materials to help drive the R&D process quicker in collaboration with Engineering.
• The key candidate would have a background in the SAP ERP system, with a background in Supply Chain or Materials and BOM management.

What You'll Do

• Plans, schedules, coordinates or monitors final approval of products through the complete Product Development Process (PDP)
• Coordinates production plans for new products ensuring availability of material to meet project schedules
• Manages on-time-delivery goals of products by committed ship date
• Works to resolve capacity, material constraints and other potential schedule interruptions
• Approves unit quantities, schedules and parts lists provided to the material control organization to ensure timely and complete ordering, as well as receipt and issuance of production material requirements
• Manages and implements NPI Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
• Coordinates with engineering to create and maintain Bill of Material (BOMs) in SAP
• Manages the release of parts, modules or units to appropriate department in production
• Creates and maintains work orders, purchase requests and internal transfer orders

Job Requirements

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Operations Management or Finance or Materials Management or Computer Information Sciences
• 5+ years of experience in Purchasing/Planning role
• 5+ years of experience in team and group setting, collaborating across all levels of an organization

• Basic understanding of manufacturing planning/scheduling and the processes associated with MRP/ERP, SAP
• Ability to present ideas in a clear and persuasive manner, both orally and in writing
