Job summary

Iron Oak Energy Solutions in Wedron, IL, invites engineering students to join its 10–12 week Operations Intern program. Qualifications

• Pursuing an engineering degree (mining, mechanical, industrial, chemical, etc.) from an accredited university.
• Enrolled at an accredited college or university.
• Interest in mining, industrial operations, or manufacturing environments.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a team‑oriented environment.
• Willingness to work in field and industrial settings.

Responsibilities

• Learn safety principles including PPE, MSHA regulations, industrial hygiene, and inspections.
• Gain basic understanding of mining processes: drilling, blasting, haulage, surveying, sampling.
• Understand wet process, drying, screening, loading, quality control, sampling, data management, reporting, and continuous improvement.
• Learn permitting, regulatory reporting, reclamation, and safety practices.
• Understand preventative and corrective maintenance, purchasing, scheduling.
• Assist salaried staff with technical problems and projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
