Job Description: Engineering & Operations ManagerCompany: Remis America, LLCLocation: Fort Worth, TXPosition OverviewRemis America is seeking a hands-on Engineering & Operations Manager to lead the integration of product engineering, manufacturing operations, and field installation execution. This role is responsible for ensuring that custom refrigeration door solutions are engineered accurately, produced efficiently, and delivered/installed seamlessly for customers in the food retail industry.This leader will serve as the facilitator between engineering design, production, supply chain, and field operations, driving continuous improvement in quality, cost, and delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesEngineering & Product ExecutionLead engineering efforts for custom-fit refrigeration door systems (retrofit and new installs)Translate customer/site specifications into manufacturable designs and BOMsPartner with global/parent engineering teams on product improvements and new innovationsStandardize drawings, configurations, and engineering documentationEnsure compliance with refrigeration, safety, and energy-efficiency standardsManufacturing & Operations ManagementOversee day-to-day manufacturing operations, including fabrication, assembly, and QADrive production planning, scheduling, and throughput improvementsImplement lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve marginsMonitor KPIs (on-time delivery, scrap, rework, labor efficiency, etc.)Partner with supply chain to ensure material availability and vendor performanceProject & Installation OperationsOversee project lifecycle from order intake through installation and closeoutCoordinate with sales and customers on project scope, timelines, and executionManage installation teams and/or subcontractors for field deploymentEnsure projects are completed on time, on budget, and to quality standardsResolve field issues, ensuring strong customer satisfactionCross-Functional LeadershipAct as the primary liaison between Engineering, Sales, Operations, and Field ServicesBuild scalable processes as the company grows geographically and by product lineDevelop and mentor a small but high-performing technical/operations teamSupport ERP/system improvements (production tracking, job costing, inventory)Continuous Improvement & StrategyIdentify opportunities to improve product design for manufacturability and installabilityDrive cost reduction initiatives across materials, labor, and logisticsSupport new product introduction (NPI) and testingContribute to operational strategy and capacity planningQualificationsRequiredBachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or similar)7–12+ years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, or operations leadershipExperience in custom manufacturing, industrial products, or refrigeration/HVAC systemsStrong understanding of CAD, BOMs, and production processesProven experience managing both shop floor operations and project executionAbility to operate in a hands-on, player-coach rolePreferredExperience with retrofit-based or field-installed productsKnowledge of glass, metal fabrication, or refrigeration systemsFamiliarity with lean / Six Sigma methodologiesERP system experience (Sage, NetSuite, or similar)Key CompetenciesStrong problem-solving and systems thinkingAbility to balance engineering precision with operational speedHigh ownership mentality in a small/mid-sized company environmentCustomer-first mindset with field awarenessData-driven decision makingSuccess MetricsOn-time project delivery and installation completionReduction in manufacturing defects and reworkImproved production throughput and labor efficiencyGross margin improvement via cost control and process optimizationCustomer satisfaction and repeat business
