Job summary

Consumers Power Inc. is seeking an Engineering and Operations Support Specialist to support CPI’s mission by coordinating records, permits and billing while delivering excellent service to members and colleagues.

This on‑site role emphasizes teamwork, integrity and operational excellence in a union environment (IBEW Local #659). The position requires strong communication, organization and problem solving, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary to communicate clearly with internal and external customers, vendors and others.
• Strong technical, troubleshooting, problem‑solving, research, organizational and analytical skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and deadlines.
• Well‑reasoned decision making with attention to detail regarding organization, planning and workflow.

Responsibilities

• Create, update, review, and reconcile work orders, service orders, member records, facility records per CPI data standards.
• Coordinate with employees, members, contractors, agencies and others to document permits and easements for construction and maintenance.
• Prepare facility‑contact summaries and other supporting information for annual billing; respond to billing inquiries and draft reports.
• Provide timely, professional support to internal and external customers interacting with Engineering and Operations, while managing deadlines.
• Communicate professionally with all employees, the Board, members and others, contributing to teamwork and meeting strategic goals.
• Complete special projects and other duties to meet team and organizational goals.
