PlanIT Group in Orlando, FL is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Machining Operations Center and Manufacturing Engineering Team. You will drive process improvements for small parts assembly, paint, and plating, interpret drawings, and support production with detailed work instructions.

The role combines hands-on shop floor work with automation initiatives, fixture design, and capital project involvement, aiming to improve quality, schedule, and cost across assigned programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
  • Proficiency with CAD software (Siemens NX, CREO, Pro/Engineer, Solidworks).
  • Experience in production manufacturing environment (3+ years).
  • US citizen required.

Responsibilities

  • Drive process improvements in small parts assembly, paint, and plating.
  • Interpret drawings and create detailed work instructions.
  • Perform root cause analysis of non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
  • Create fixture and tooling concepts, drawings, and models.
  • Identify and drive automation and IFF technology implementations.
  • Participate in capital investment/equipment evaluation and project management.
  • Provide shop floor support to resolve technical and manufacturing issues.
  • Monitor and report on quality, schedule, and cost performance of projects.

We are seeking a talented and motivated Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic Machining Operations Center/Manufacturing Engineering Team. As part of this collaborative team, you will contribute to the creation and continuous improvement of special processes and small parts assembly for ultraprecision machined components. Your work will involve driving technology and automation into these operations.


Onsite in Orlando, FL


What You Will Be Doing


  • Responsible for driving process improvements within small parts assembly, paint, and plating manufacturing areas

  • Interpret drawing requirements and create detailed work instruction documentation to support production needs

  • Perform root cause analysis of component non conformances and ensure implementation of effective corrective action

  • Create fixture and tooling concepts, drawings, and models

  • Identify, evaluate business case, and drive successful implementation of automation and IFF technologies

  • Participate in capital investment/equipment evaluation, selection, and project management

  • Provide shop floor support as necessary to resolve technical and manufacturing issues

  • Monitor and report on quality, schedule, and cost performance of assigned projects/programs

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:


  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related discipline

  • Basic understanding of CAD software such as Siemens NX, CREO, Pro Engineer, or Solidworks (Experience: 3 years)

  • Experience working in production manufacturing environment (Experience: 3 years)

  • The candidate must be a US citizen


DESIRED EXPERIENCE:


  • Working knowledge and experience using MES, PLM, and ERP systems (Experience: 3 years)

  • Experience with small parts assembly operation including precision pin installation, rivet install, helicoils, etc. (Experience: 3 years)

  • Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) interpretation skills (Experience: 3 years)

  • Experience utilizing CREO or NX for CAD (Experience: 3 years)

  • Experience working with MIL-SPEC and industry standard special processes (chem-film, anodize, passivation, organic coatings, plating, heat treatment, etc.) (Experience: 3 years)

  • Experience with paint application and masking processes for components and assemblies (metallic and composite) (Experience: 2 years)

  • Knowledge of precision measuring tools, gauges, and equipment (Experience: 3 years)

  • Experience with implementing automation manufacturing solutions (Not required, nice to have)

  • Experience with 3D Printing (Experience: 2 years)

  • Experience with chemistry, including execution of titrations, pH analysis, large volume plating line evaluation and troubleshooting (Not required, nice to have)

  • Familiarity with ISO9000 and AS9100 industry standards, and common military specifications (Experience: 3 years)
